Special Corner - Charles Lowson Poems Awake Awake February 15, 2010

Tune is Morning Light or Stand up stand up for
Jesus!
Awake, awake from slumber
Too long we've been denied
Proclaim our truth as thunder
Resounds across the skies.
Dispel the gloom of ages
That ancient creeds have caused.
For all life's many changes
Are ruled by perfect laws.
Awake, awake from slumber
The dead no longer sleep.
Discard the useless lumber
That minds in bondage keep
No sacrifice can save us
None can our deeds atone
It is a law of nature,
We reap as we have sown.
Awake awake from slumber
A new day soon will dawn,
When man shall cease to plunder
And evil deeds to spawn
When all find joy in service
And seek a. noble cause
Find beauty, love, and goodness
The universal laws.
