Special Corner - Wayne's Writings and Poems Cool of the Day (Poem) January 29, 2010

The fat green leaves
Lay flat on the soil
Tulips without blossoms
Their colour untold

Waiting still another day
For spring breezes
To come and stay
And cause the leaf to sway

The grey blue sky
Harbours layers of cold
That escape to the earth
So the leaves can't unfold

The conditions are met
That gives strength to the stem
For a full hearted bloom
To appear on the stage

The coolness of spring
Gives way to some rain
Strength for the flower
To bless the domain

The lingering cool
Has run out of time
And opened up blossoms
In that garden of mine

Wayne Anthony
